Types of Triangles in Terms of their Sides

Types of Triangles in Terms of their Sides

Students have some general knowledge of triangles but find it difficult to discover the differences between triangles and construct triangles accurately using different ways .
The Experiment of Eratosthenes

The Experiment of Eratosthenes

In Greek primary education there is no mention of Eratosthenes' method. Primary school students are taught at school that the shape of the Earth is “an oblate spheroid” by a series of impressive photographs of the Earth from space. This knowledge remains useless, if students do not engage themselves in "measuring the Earth" with simple mathematical calculations .
Introduction to the World of Fractions

Introduction to the World of Fractions

Students before the formal teaching of fractions possess a range of knowledge and skills related to fractions, such as the expressions used in everyday language "I will come in a quarter of an hour", "a third of the class is missing", etc. a. Knowledge related to fractions is also the one related to division "divide", "divide into equal parts" etc. Therefore, the students already have a perception of fractions which comes from processes of searching for the part of a whole. This knowledge, however, is not connected to the symbolic representation of fractions (e.g. ¼) nor to the formal formulation (e.g. a quarter).
The Weather

The Weather

The students do not know that the weather is not the same in all places, nor are they familiar with a weather report. The students in their attempt to interpret "what is the weather like" answer indiscriminately that it is: the heat, the cold, the clouds, the rain, etc., whether the place is cold or warm. Children also believe that: ∙Seasons make the weather change, clouds are created by water vapor, ∙rain falls when the clouds become too heavy or because we need it, lightning happens when two clouds collide, etc. The students have developed from previous lessons the basic skills of using the computer and are familiar with the basic functions of TuxPaint , wordwall and concept map through which they develop weather-related activities.
Forests send out a Danger Signal

Forests send out a Danger Signal

Students know enough about the benefits of forests in our lives, but they do not know much about the causes and consequences of their destruction, nor about the ways they can adopt to protect them. The main goal is to make them understand the necessity of proper sustainable management through raising awareness and shaping correct behaviors towards the environment. The students’ recent visit to the EEC Philippiadas in a program about the forest and the presentation of photos, via PowerPoint and video of damaged or burned landscapes are an impetus for the development of dialogue and free expression (brainstorming). The students will express their experiences of what they saw, heard and felt from their visit to the forest of Lake Zirou, they will identify and name plant species from the plant list they made, they will make a collage of photos and leaves from trees they collected, they will find the height difference of Greek mountains, they will write slogans for the protection of forests and they will make posters about the measures to protect the natural environment.
Olive: The “Golden fruit” of our Country

Olive: The “Golden fruit” of our Country

The students of the classroom are familiar with olive oil from their everyday life and there are olive trees in many places in our country. Taking into consideration that students have a basic prerequisite knowledge, the teacher will provide the opportunity for the students to come into contact and get to know the olive as a fruit, as a tree and its derivatives through the appropriate content displayed as well as from the experimental process and the discovery process. The children will watch the oil production process, they will think about and discuss the value of the olive, they will make observations, measurements and comparisons with a magnifying glass, scales and a ruler while through experimentation they will get to know the basic characteristics and properties of olive oil. Considering the age and experience of the students, teacher will propose the free drawing program (TuxPaint). Students have developed basic computer skills from previous lessons and are familiar with the basic functions of TuxPaint where they can express themselves freely and creatively.
A Mythological Trip into Space

A Mythological Trip into Space

The space and the solar system are fascinating topics for students, as they provide them with an opportunity to explore the world around them. Through learning about our solar system and its planets, students can understand our position in the universe, be inspired by its magnificence, and dream about what the vast cosmos may hold for us. Students will become familiar with the planets and their orbits around the sun, develop their curiosity, study constellations, and construct solar systems. There is a connection with the History lesson in the 3rd grade of primary school, helping students understand the evolution of human knowledge, science, technology, and culture. The use of digital tools suitable for the students' age will be incorporated, promoting active participation and engagement for all. Students are familiar with the use of these specific tools and have developed the necessary skills for using online and computer applications, as well as mobile device applications.
Familiarizing with the Peri-urban Forest

Familiarizing with the Peri-urban Forest

What we want our students to learn: 1) What the forest is.What a forest ecosystem involves and if all forests are alike. 2) Flora (whether there are many species of trees) and fauna (whether the animals we encounter in the city forest are tame or not). 3) How can we protect the forest from fires? 4) Is there a way to revive the forest in case of a fire? 5) How important is the anti-flooding role of the forest for our city?"
Netiquette

Netiquette

Students will be able to learn to express their kindness and empathy to others, as well as how to react to negativity and harassment. The above qualifications are essential for building healthy relationships, for reducing bullying, depression, school difficulties and other problems. During online conversations, students find it difficult to identify the social dimensions of an insinuation. Being constantly "connected" could bring about, not only a sense of comfort but a sense of anxiety as well. The scenario requires familiarization of students with basic computer skills as well as participation in software such as ClassPoint and platforms such as quizizz and Worwall .
