Forests send out a Danger Signal

Students know enough about the benefits of forests in our lives, but they do not know much about the causes and consequences of their destruction, nor about the ways they can adopt to protect them. The main goal is to make them understand the necessity of proper sustainable management through raising awareness and shaping correct behaviors towards the environment. The students’ recent visit to the EEC Philippiadas in a program about the forest and the presentation of photos, via PowerPoint and video of damaged or burned landscapes are an impetus for the development of dialogue and free expression (brainstorming). The students will express their experiences of what they saw, heard and felt from their visit to the forest of Lake Zirou, they will identify and name plant species from the plant list they made, they will make a collage of photos and leaves from trees they collected, they will find the height difference of Greek mountains, they will write slogans for the protection of forests and they will make posters about the measures to protect the natural environment.
